Professional qualifications

Dr. Henry Liang earned his Bachelor's degree in Chinese Medicine from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GUCM) in 1983, completing an intensive 5-year program. This rigorous education provided him with a thorough understanding of both Chinese and conventional medicine. He continued his studies at GUCM, obtaining a Master's degree in Clinical Chinese Medicine Classics after a 3-year program, which he completed in 1986.
Dr. Liang furthered his academic journey at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, where his research focused on the efficacy and safety of Chinese medicine for treating cancer. He was awarded his PhD in 2004.
Professional/academic positions

Dr. Henry Liang has been practicing Chinese medicine, including herbal medicine and acupuncture, in Australia since 1990. He has been registered with AHPRA as an Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner, and Chinese Herbal dispenser since 2012.
From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Liang served as a Visiting Professor at the Tumour Research Institute of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GUCM) in China. Before this role, he worked as a physician and later as a senior physician at the GUCM-affiliated hospital from 1983 to 1990, where he refined his expertise in integrating Chinese and conventional medicine to address a wide range of conditions.
Since 1996, Dr. Liang has received ongoing support and academic guidance from Professor Daihan Zhou at GUCM, a distinguished leader in Chinese medicine oncology.
Dr. Liang has also held several prominent academic leadership positions. He was Principal of the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1997 to 2005 and served as the Head of the Chinese Medicine Program at Western Sydney University from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, he was the Coordinator and Supervisor of the Chinese Medicine Clinic at Western Sydney University from 2005 to 2018. During his time at WSU, Dr. Liang coordinated and taught a variety of training units, including Clinical Oncology in Chinese Medicine, Mental and Neurological Disorders in Chinese Medicine, Musculoskeletal Health in Chinese Medicine, Chinese Internal Medicine, Dermatology in Chinese Medicine, and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
